Barback

Position Summary:
A craft beer lover who promotes the brand of Mount Gretna Craft Brewery by serving as “wingman” for the bartender. Barbacks keep our brewery experience top notch by keeping our bar stocked, changing keys, collecting empty glassware and keeping clean glassware on hand, restocking ice and maintain a clean experience from bar tops and tables to benches and floors.


Essential Responsibilities:
Fun, enthusiasm and desire to create an inviting and local vibe for our community
A big smile! Greet all customers as neighbors with friendly, efficient and personal service
Ensure a clean service environment – inside and out
Accurately process transactions in the point of sale (POS) system when needed
Ensure there is always enough back up bar supplies and alcohol
Change kegs when needed
Pick up empty glasses and bottles from the tables and outside areas
Wipe down tables and bar tops
Always ensure there is enough clean glassware
Re-stock ice when needed
Maintain clean rags in each bartender’s station
Depending on shift – deliver food orders to tables
Follow opening/closing procedures based on checklist and operating procedures
Report to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to start
Take part in routine trainings and tastings to stay informed about craft beverage and menu offerings, programs and events
Learn with our team to be able to lend a hand across the business from the kitchen to the general store, and share our products, services and programs with our customers
Become a brand steward and personify the brand at all times and generate positive brand awareness
Represent the brand at local events

Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age
One year restaurant/bar experience preferred
Knowledge of craft beer styles preferred
Customer service experience
Strong attention to detail and respect for cleanliness and sanitation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Open to feedback and constantly striving to improve
Willingness to cross-train across our business
Excitement about the role of ensuring every guest has a quality experience
Team-player. Hard-worker. Honest.

Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move about the brewery
Use of hands - operate taps and make craft cocktails, manage the register, stock shelves
Ability to lift 50+ pounds unaided
